Welcome to Turbines By Gateway!
Turbines By Gateway, Inc. is owned and operated by Mike and
Joan Sprouse. Mike started Gateway Aviation more than 20 years ago while on
active duty in the United States Navy. Originally stationed in San Diego,
California, Mike had to move his business to Memphis, Tennessee, for the
last 5 years of his Navy service, at which point he retired. Throughout his
Naval career, Mike continued to build his aircraft sheet metal business on
the side; and once he retired he moved back to California where he quickly
set up shop in Long Beach.
Mike's last 12 years of Navy service were spent as the Crew
Chief Instructor on Navy Douglas DC-9 jet aircraft. When he retired from the
Navy he went full-time into his business and eventually got involved with
Turbine Engines. With his new interest in turbine engines, life dealt
another twist and the business incorporated with new plans: Turbines
By Gateway, Inc.
Turbines By Gateway, Inc. now does a lot of business with the railroad
industry, building turbine powered snow and ice removal equipment.
Technical schools have also taken an interest in test stands, for all types
of engines, providing hands-on class training for Airframe & Powerplant
trainees (A&P) and other such mechanics. And Turbines By Gateway, Inc.
has not forgotten the turbine engine enthusiasts, assisting aircraft and
boat owners with turbine power for their vehicles. Turbines by
Gateway, Inc. has just moved into a brand new building located at the Eagle
Airfield in Mohave Valley, Arizona; and Mike and Joan welcome inquiries from
